Laser Engraving

Laser Engraving

Laser Engraving can be used on a variety of our products, mainly our wooden box range. The laser engraving process uses a high intensity laser beam to vaporise the material leaving the logo permanently engraved into the surface.

Engraving Different Materials

Our wooden box range has been specifically designed to suit both our Laser Engraving and Screen Printing methods allowing us to customise most of our products even in small volumes. We are constantly evolving our wooden box range to achieve better results with the engraving method, and our staff are always working on improved settings with our machine to offer the best results possible. The laser engraving process reacts very differently between the different materials we use on our wooden box range.

Here is a brief description for the different types of materials that we currently stock -

Birch: Birch material gives a lighter golden brown engraving and can handle quite a lot of detail. Birch can be engraved either shallow or deep with similar contrast and finish for either. This material looks fantastic with either detailed engraving or solid engravings.

Pineply: Pineply is a cost effective material used in a variety on our wooden boxes. This material gives a deep and dark engraving and is best suited to thin lines, basic logos and text.

Paulownia: Paulownia is a soft wood and is used in a variety of our wooden boxes, this material gives a deep engraving with an orange/brown finish. The wood grain creates a variation which can be seen in the engraving itself which adds character to each box.

Pine:  Pine material is very subtle when engraved with limited contrast in colour, this engraving is generally deeper as we use higher power settings to achieve the colour variation to help the engraving stand out.

Bamboo: Bamboo is a unique material that reacts very well under the laser but does vary in finish depending on the wood itself. Our current Bamboo wine boxes give a nice dark detailed result once engraved by our machine.

Perspex:  We offer laser engraving on our products fitted with premium perspex. Perspex reacts with the laser quite well leaving a detailed white image permanently etched into the plastic material.

Laser Foil: We now offer laser foiling services to our products but can also offer this service for your bottles or other products requiring a premium foil finish. This material is around 0.2mm thick and available in a range of colours, the foil can be engraved or cut to suit. See Mistura Bottle image below.

Other materials: The materials listed above are just a brief overview of what we engrave on a regular basis. We can also engrave Glass Bottles, Painted or stained wooden boxes, Anodised Materials and a range of others. We also offer basic laser cutting services.
